Treating Melasma

Melasma, although harmless, can be very embarrassing. It is the discoloration of the skin (particularly in the face) which is most seen in women who have naturally dark skin. Melasma is commonly caused when these type of women fall pregnant due to the increase in estrogen and progesterone.

The effects are dark, irregular patches of the skin commonly found on the upper cheek, nose, lips and forehead. Melasma is by no means dangerous as skin disoloration is as far as the symptoms go.

To help treat the effects of melasma, you can use a number of skin whitening / bleaching agents but we (and general research) has found the most effective to be Pharmaclinix Lightenex or Pharmaclinix Lightenex Plus (depending on the severity of the discoloration).
