Bridal Hair Style

Today, every asian bride is more conscious about their looks on their ‘big wedding day’ as every one wants to look beautiful as well as stylish and traditional…and no bride wants to look the same as any other! It’s advisable to consult your hair stylist at least eight weeks before the weeding day; although given the more popular ones are booked months in advance my personal tip would be to contact them about 4-5 months before your big day.

Your wedding hair stylist will decide which style will complement your wedding dress / bridal lehnga and make-up. If you are thinking about colouring your hair for that added effect, let your stylist know so they can try this out before you go-ahead with it. The same colour does not suit every bride so please bear that in mind before insisting on a particular colour. Your hair colour needs to be a good contrast to your skin complexion.

Fair skinned brides can try a bright color and less fair-skinned bride would look best choosing matt and darker shades like dark brown, burgundy, copper etc. Trendy colors like sizzling shades, fiery red browns and red coppers are quite popular now.

Your hair style and colour also depends on the shape of your face, personality and height. Some bridal hairstyles rely on perming, ironing, braids, crimping, and ringlets etc. If you want to try perming then make sure you have applied it two weeks prior to your big day. You have to give the hair enough time to curl and to settle down.

If you have long hair you can try a romantic look by creating some ringlets and curl little bit of your hair. You can also try a spiral perm. If you want a curly look then you can opt for heated rollers instead of perming. With this style highlight some portion of your hair with some glossy color.

Hair accessories also heighten up the beauty of your hair. Circlets of flowers, braids bound with ribbons, strands of white pearls or traditional tiaras- the choice is yours. The bottom line is explore your feminine beauty and elegance that steals everyone’s attention.

Summer Hair Style and Fashion

Tip 1
Summer is the time for curls, movement and for having fun and being experimental with your hair. Right now it’s all about more voluminous curls and multi texture within styles. Girls with naturally curly hair should ditch the flat irons and make the most of what they’ve got. It’s time to throw the rule book out of the window, curls don’t have to be defined any more, in fact softer, more textured brushed out curls, as seen on the catwalks are the way to go.

Tip 2
Wash your hair only when necessary and make sure you give it a good rinse. If it’s feeling dry, a conditioning treatment once a week will do the trick. Towel dry the hair making sure not to disturb the curl too much. Add your favourite curl-defining product then allow to dry naturally, or diffuse depending on the British Summer! Once the hair is completely dry, try running your fingers from the roots through to ends. This will loosen the curls. If you’re feeling really brave and want the catwalk look use a comb for a more fluffy curl. You could also try sprinkling a small amount of talcum powder or make over spray on your roots for matt results.
This is also a top tip for oily roots on days two and three after washing your hair.

Tip 3
If you have very curly hair naturally and want a looser Sex and the City type curl, you could try combing the hair from root to tips every so often while the hair is drying, remember your styling cream first.

Tip 4
Girls with straight hair that want volume and movement dig out and dust off your old heated rollers and curling tongs.

Firstly apply some volume spray to damp hair. Smooth your hair with a paddle brush, then blast dry. Always use a nozzle and direct the airflow down the hair shaft.

Starting from the front hairline in the centre of your head begin adding the heated rollers, make sure you roll them with a good tension and sit each roller on top of its own section for max smoothness and height. Follow this system all the way to the back of your head. The thickness of each section will depend on the thickness of your hair.

Now do the sides making sure you cover all the hair. Apply some hairspray for extra hold and allow the rollers to cool completely.

Once cool, remove rollers, using a soft bristle brush gently brush all the hair back off your face removing any separation left by the rollers. Tip head up side down get your fingers in at the root and give your head a good shake out. Flip your head back add a little more hairspray and you should be ready to roll.

Tip 5
Pony tails are a quick and easy way to transform your look. Apply some wet look gel all around the hair line comb or brush back in to a tight high pony tail, secure and fluff up the ends with some back combing and hair spray for multi textured look. Very London Fashion Week. As an alternative you can tong, crimp or straighten the ends.
